Owner-customer benefits will be renewed

As of 1 January 2026, we will increase OP bonus earnings, the number of products that earn you bonuses will increase, and you can choose how you use your bonuses. The default option is to use them as before – for banking service charges and insurance premiums. You can also invest your bonuses in funds via OP-mobile or take out your bonuses in cash. You will also get the renewed owner-customer benefits.

As an OP customer, you get all your banking and insurance services under one roof, making your daily use of services easier.

Once you've become our customer, you can also become an OP cooperative bank owner-customer and get benefits and valuable OP bonuses. As an owner-customer, you get discounts on banking, insurance and savings and investment services – and will have more to spend on other things.

As an owner-customer, you will also get daily banking services without monthly charges until the end of 2025, and you will earn 40% more OP bonuses compared to the normal level of 2022.

  • Switching your bank to OP

    When you want to switch your banking services to OP, become our customer digitally. We will assist you with practical matters and ensure that the process of transferring banks is as simple as possible for you.

  • Transferring services

    After you become our customer, you can sign a power of attorney for transferring your services when meeting with us. We will move your services to OP as planned, and if necessary, ensure that transactions through your current bank are stopped. On the date specified in the power of attorney, your old bank will terminate the services and transfer your funds to your new OP account to use for a home purchase, for example.

You will get access to a Current Account, OP's user ID and diverse digital services, as well as a payment card.

You can submit an application digitally if

  • you are of age
  • you have banking user IDs at a Finnish bank
  • you are a citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) or a dual citizen who holds citizenship in Finland and another EEA country
  • you have a permanent address and domicile in Finland
  • your credit history is in order, and you do not have a voluntary credit ban
  • your name or personal identity code are not on a sanctions list.

Enable banking services for a child

Children and young people get banking services free of charge.  You can open a Current Account for a child, and if the child is over the age of 7, you can also order a card and get an OP user ID for digital services for them.

You can submit an application digitally if

  • the child has a personal identity code and name
  • you have an OP user ID and other guardians have banking user IDs at a Finnish bank
  • the child has a permanent address and domicile in Finland
  • the name or personal identity code of the child or guardian is not on a sanctions list.

To order a card, the child must have a personal phone number and a valid Finnish identity card or passport.

Do you need a Finnish bank account and online user ID for banking services?

If you have recently moved to Finland, begin opening your banking services in the op.fi service. When you become OP's customer, you may receive a Current Account, banking user IDs for the digital services and a payment card.

You can use the form to send us information before your appointment with us at a bank branch. To activate banking services with OP, you must be aged 18 or over.

Looking for information about statutory basic banking services?

All consumers with a legal residence status in an EEA country have a statutory right to basic banking services. The services include

  • Basic Payment Account
  • OP Basic payment card
  • OP's user ID and limited digital services
  • ability to deposit and withdraw cash, as well as carry out transactions

You can get access to these services by booking an appointment at an OP cooperative bank. You need to have a personal ID document accepted for banking purposes.
